Salon Talk 11th February

Scarlett before and after which do you prefer?

It’s bye bye to blondes this week, as Hollywood appears to be taking a trip to the dark side. Firstly we have Kate Blanchett star of the new Benjamin Button film. She is usually a lovely golden blonde but for this film she has changed her hair colour and gone for a beautiful rich copper. It looks fantastic and as someone who used to flip between being a blonde and a red head I am sorely tempted to follow her example. Everyone has been saying how vibrant her hair looks and how it really suits her.

The same can’t be said for Scarlett Johanson, although her new chocolate chestnut colour is beautiful it does nothing for her skin tone and the long super straight centre parting only serves to drown poor Scarlett out , and gives her an un-natural look. Most clients have said they prefer her as a blonde.

Big hair has transformed into high hair this week and our favourite hairstyle is the New York Pony Tail as worn by all the stars at a recent Hollywood premier Think I dream of Genie, and you’ll get the idea.

Fashion must haves this week are hair bands as worn by Victoria Beckham, Chunky ear rings, and style wise nautical stripes in everything.

Fringes are fashionable but get it done properly, everyone is talking about the Argos ad. With the mum cutting the families hair with a bowl as a guide.

Hot tickets Beyonce at the Echo Arena sold out in a flash and star of the moment Lady GaGa at the Newz Bar.

This weeks Marmite – Russell Brand was in in town and most clients either love him, or just don’t get him. But the people have spoken and…As he’s sold out the Echo Arena case closed verdict - Russell is a god.

Another sold out show that everyone was talking about this week Mrs Brown at the Empire, very funny and very popular.

Film of the week is the Pre-valentine must see ‘He’s just not that into you’
