Salon Talk 21st March

Frankie From The Saturdays

It was Mothers day on Sunday and lots of sons and daughters were treating their mums in the salon, but is it good to look to much like your mum after seeing the pictures of Sarah Ferguson and her daughter Beatrice in this weeks papers most clients thought the answer was a definite no. It’s not that the mum is dressing to young it’s that the daughter is dressing older and frumpy. I think Beatrice is about twenty but her dress sense is way beyond her years, a trip to Primark and a night out in Liverpool would put her on the straight and narrow.

The favourite way to spoil mums this weekend was afternoon tea at the Hard Days night hotel.

A couple of warm days and everyone was asking where they could go and sit outside for a coffee. We all want a café culture like Paris and thankfully we’ve got a few places in Liverpool One, but most people think we need some more.

This week we seem to have been doing a lot of talking about men and self esteem issues. Foolish Rhianna taking back her bad boyfriend and sad or mad nobody is quite sure Kerry Kattona forgiving her Mark, and then was Danielle Lloyd talking about her past abusive relationships. Everybody felt sorry for them in different ways but couldn’t understand why they put up with it. There’s nothing like a bunch of girls getting bitter and twisted about men or MEN !! as some clients said. I felt sorry for some of the boys who work in our salon they were quaking!

All this in the week the Vagina Monologues where on stage at the Empire. Not for the easily offended but laugh out loud funny, everyone who saw it said it went from sad to hysterical and was a must see for all women, Jennifer Ellison Kathy Tyson and Sue Johnson were excellent If you ever wondered what happened to Girl Power it was here in all its glory!

Everyone was shocked by the circumstances of the death of Natasha Richardson, everyone remembered her from the film the ‘Parent Trap’

Hairstyle of the week is Frankie from the Saturday’s clients just can’t get enough of her chart- topping look. It’s a boyish elfin cut which makes her stand out from the rest of the band and the rich chocolate tones give it loads of shine.

Why is Duffy on a bicycle riding around a supermarket singing ‘I’ve got to be me’ and drinking Coke? What’s that all about everyone is asking.

James Corden may have been funny in Gavin and Stacey but the jokes about being fat unlike James are starting to ware a bit thin, in his new series on BBC3.Clients just don’t get it.

We all love a good tearjerker and Marley and Me has had clients crying by the bucket load. Jennifer Aniston Owen Wilson and a Labrador, perfect weepie material.
