Andrea from the salon Steph from Hollyoaks Fern Cotton and Jamie Lee at the Clothes Show
Some of you may have been swamped with emails from us this week inviting you to follow us on Twitter. Twitter, is one of those social networks were you post notes telling everyone what your doing all day. At first I was a bit sceptical about it thinking who wants to know about the little things we do, so I asked a few people and they thought it might be interesting, so lets try it. When you Twitter each message can only be a maximum of 140 characters so what you write has to be short and to the point. Once we had set it up it asked us if we would like to inform everyone on our contacts list that we are now on Twitter, seemed like a good idea why not. Pressed yes and thought everything was fine the computer was doing its thing until we got a message problem with Twitter please re submit your request, so we did, after a bit the same message came back please re submit so we thought must be a problem with the connection so did it again and again and again maybe I don’t know twenty times? Until finally decided this isn’t working we’ll give up on that idea. However little did we know that it was actually sending out messages but only to about half of our contact list before the problem started, so every time we resubmitted it would start all over again and send out the same message. So to everybody who received a load of junk messages telling you Barbara Daley is now on Twitter I apologise. It wasn’t Twitters fault it was the twit who was setting it up. Now that we’ve cleared that up and in case you didn’t get the email you can follow us everyday at www.twitter.com/barbaradaley and find out what’s going on in the salon.
Being a hairdresser does have its perks you get to do lots of different things in and out of the salon this week we’ve styled the hair for two photo shoots both taking place in Liverpool. The first was a commercial look then for the other Lee did a dramatic men’s look for a super stylish New York magazine. If that wasn’t enough for one week. Andrea and Jamie Lee were working the Clothes Show in Birmingham. Andrea was in charge of the hair team for the main fashion theatre where all the catwalk shows where, so it was quite a responsibility for her, but she’s did a great job organizing everyone. Events like these may sound very glamorous but they are hard work. The team have to be their at 7.30 every morning and don’t finish until after 7.00 every night for a week and there are seven shows a day so its quite intense but they do get to hang out with all the stars who are there including Fern Cotton, George Lamb, lots of the cast of Hollyoaks and of course Gok Wan!
The hunt for Christmas presents continues and my favourite present this week was a bag to put your bag in. Would you leave the house without one
A Christmas present that I don’t think would be much appreciated is the new spanks type vests for men that they are selling in Asda I’m sure they will be a popular buy but I don’t their would be much appreciation when your husband opens it on Christmas day, May as well go all the way and write a note on the packaging saying your fat wear this!
Well done to Lisa from the salon and all the clients who took part in the Santa Dash on Sunday. Everyone loved that their was thousands of people in Santa costumes walking around the city centre for the rest of the day.
The big question everyone is asking this week is where have all the shops from Clayton Square gone? It’s like a ghost town when you walk through it
I felt a little bit special after our Christmas night out last week, When we had finished our meal, and we came to leave their was torrential rain storm, All the girls where dressed up to the nines but without coats or umbrellas everyone was thinking they where going to get soaked until the very helpful staff gave all the girls a complimentary bin bag as they left. When it came to be my turn to leave I was given a big smile and two bin bags to keep me dry!!
