Salon Talk 27th March

Is everybody here?

Last week we went to Paris with all our staff to celebrate the salons twentieth birthday. We stayed at Euro Disney which was a bit Mickey Mouse but great fun then went on a site seeing tour of Paris which was fantastic, Paris it is an amazing city.

If you think Childwall five ways is scary then try driving onto the roundabout on the Arc de Triomphe. Talk about having your heart in your mouth its crazy I pity the poor drives who have to negotiate that everyday. Its not for the faint hearted.

As part of our tour we travelled down the Avenue Montaigne which is the home of all the great fashion houses from Louis Vuitton to Gucci to Chanel the only one we didn’t see was our favourite Primarni

If I had suggested to any of our staff we should go and learn how to line dance I would probably be laughed out of the salon but that’s what we did by chance in Paris I feel like we released the inner cowboy and country music loving side of the staff. For me being a farm girl, Cantril Farm that is it was probably there all the time.

After spending two days at Euro Disney the last place I would want to spend this week end would be Alton Towers but that’s what some of the staff are planning and the attraction is the new ride ‘Thirteen’ so scary they have a doctor on stand by. You have been warned.

Everyone has been buzzing about Jamie Oliver opening a restaurant in Liverpool 0ne in June. And with Marco Pierre White’s restaurant now open the city is fast becoming a centre for culinary excellence. We have so many good restaurants now and yet you still can’t get a table.

You know summer is nearly here when you receive offers like this one why not higher a luxury yacht and enjoy the day sailing with dinner and champers included. When the weather has picked up how popular is that going to be speeding down the river with Duran Duran’s Rio playing in the background very South of France

Looks like Liverpool left its mark on Lady GaGa after she was here last month, she was pictured in all the papers walking down the street with rollers in her hair but being Lady GaGa they weren’t the Velcro type but coke cans a good style tip for creating lose curls or waves the bigger the roller the loser they will be so if you cant get velcro’s improvise.

Who would of thought that velcro rollers could be considered a fashion accessory but if you dress them up with some ‘bling’ that’s what you get. We did this for a great photo shoot we did for the Liverpool Style Bible at the Hard Days Night Hotel. Love the pictures

This week we have all been talking about ‘Hairography’ The art of using your hair to to take the focus off your our other faults. It’s a trick dancers use watch how they shake their heads around to disguise bad dance steps. Once you get on to it you see it all the time. Your eyes are always drawn to the hair good or bad and miss lots of everything else. Very clever!

Loved a quote by Bobbi Brown the make-up artist this week she was talking about why we don’t need to have botox she said ‘Lines are proof that we have lived life’ And that’s my excuse.

You’ve heard of the makeover now for the breakover its what you go for when you’ve split up from your partner and decide to show him what he’s lost, a top to toe new woman

How funny was James Corden on Sports Relief this week. Everyone was talking about him and especially his scenes with David Beckham.

The Liverpool Style Bible its just like GRAZIA said one of the staff what bigger compliment could you pay a magazine
