Salon Talk 18th June

Pamela Anderson knows not to go changing

She’s been voted the most beautiful women in the world, she’s the role model for a generation now Cheryl Cole has gone and shocked everyone by announcing she wants to change her image. Lots of people are scratching their heads and asking why, but I’m not, I applaud her. Yes she’s gorgeous and it goes without saying that everyone loves her image, but everything must change even Cheryl Cole. Cheryl’s look is of a moment as a snap shot of the times but like other gorgeous women who came before her such as Victoria Beckham and Maddona she’s realised that change is good, change keeps you current and relevant. Think of the number of times Victoria Beckham or for that matter her husband David have re-invented themselves and more importantly for there career the amount of publicity it has generated. The point being changing your look gets you noticed whether your Posh or Becks or the lady who lives next door a new look is news.

I asked the staff what they would do and they all agreed that she need to go for a stronger look. We think she should go a little bit more rock star, She did flirt with a more edgier style last year but because she got a bit of bad press she quickly reverted back to her old safe look. This time I think she needs to bite the bullet and see a change of image through. We say be brave, a change of look can be a fantastic way of re-inventing yourself but the key thing to remember that it has to be the total package hair make-up and clothes, They all have to compliment.

One women who is an exception to the ‘don’t’ change rule is Pamela Anderson. Everyone has been talking about her since it was announced she’d be at the Empire in panto this Christmas. Pammy’s got her look and wild horses wouldn’t make her changer her bleached blonde hair and perma tan.

The Grand National is about Hair Ascot is about hats, There where some weird head gear on display at Ladies day at Ascot last week, Not than many people were impressed. Liverpool ladies don’t really do hats apart from weddings. We prefer to make our fashion statements with our clothes and our hair. Part of the tradition of ladies day at the National is getting into the salon early having your hair done then off for a champagne breakfast.

The world cup still goes on those horns keep blowing and annoying everyone and if that wasn’t bad enough we are now subjected to some even worse noise those awful world cup songs. We can just about live with Dizzee Rascal and James Corden’s version of ‘Shout’ but apart from that we are tearing our hair out every time Three Lions comes on the radio or the one with John Barnes rapping. But the worst of all and hang your head in shame Neil Morrissey for his truly awful song Three Lions sleep tonight, It make the sound of those vuvuzela horns appealing.

The stars of the world cup so far Prince’s William and Harry, aren’t they two nice boys a credit to their parents.

Apart from the world cup everyone is talking about Big Brother. The main talking point this week has been the Beyonce lookalike she may have been her double, but she still got voted out.

Pet hate of the week 1. The worlds ugliest cat the sphinx cat was in the papers this week and it costs £3000 everyone was asking who wants one of them it would be like cuddling a leg of lamb.

Pet hate of the week 2 toe over hang here’s a tip buy shoes that fit

Everyone has been talking about Vanessa Paradis after she was featured in all the magazines as the new face of Chanel if it wasn’t hard enough keeping yourself gorgeous and stick thin, poor Vanessa has to find time to launch her new album, attend the premier of her latest film visit the tropical island she owns. Then go to her south of France home to spend time with her family and husband Johnnie Depp .some people have it tough.

Speaking of things French president Sarkosy has been saying Liverpool should be a role model for the regeneration of Paris. Ooh la la. How good is that. Pat on the back for all concerned
